The most reliable search uses a full legal name, date of birth, spelling variants, and an approximate year. Keep each record's purpose in view. A court docket is not a police narrative, and a state RAP is not a complete list of every court or law-enforcement contact. Use the following order for a Sherman County criminal record check:

A Nebraska RAP does not include juvenile arrests, out-of-state events, citation-only minor matters, arrests without fingerprints, or records never sent to NSP. For an FBI Identity History Summary, a person requests their own federal record and submits fingerprints through the official FBI eDO process. Criminal Record Types

Sherman County Custody Search Choices
Sherman County does not publish a jail roster, named detention facility, booking gallery, 24-hour inmate line, or visitation vendor. Call the sheriff before sending money or mail, planning a visit, or assuming where a person is held. A recent local detainee may be housed through an arrangement not described on the county site. Public Access Laws in Nebraska
The Nebraska Public Records Act supports inspection and copies during ordinary office hours, subject to specific exemptions. No Sherman County Warrant List
The county offers no online active-warrant list, dedicated warrant line, app, most-wanted page, or amnesty program. Confirm a possible warrant by calling the sheriff at 308-745-1511 and checking the related court file. County Court handles misdemeanor, traffic, and many bench-warrant matters. District Court is the local source for felony process. A sealed warrant or active enforcement concern may limit what staff release.
Anyone trying to resolve their own warrant should obtain live confirmation and may wish to speak with counsel before appearing. A docket can show issuance or recall, but an old entry should not be treated as final. Use the published sheriff and court contacts, not payment instructions from an unsolicited caller.
Sealed, Expunged, and Restricted Records
Nebraska usually calls ordinary conviction relief a set-aside. Under §29-2264, an eligible person petitions the court that imposed the sentence. The judge considers completion, later conduct, time since conviction, pending charges, and statutory exclusions. A set-aside nullifies the conviction for specified purposes and removes some civil disabilities, but it does not erase the historical docket or every legal consequence.
Section 29-3523 separately ends public criminal-history dissemination for specified nonconviction outcomes. That can occur after one year with no charges, after two years following completed diversion with no charge, or upon the required notice or order for listed dismissals, acquittals, deferred judgments, and completed approved programs. Sealed cases do not appear in public JUSTICE results. Juvenile records and sensitive registry fields follow their own limits.
If a qualifying entry remains visible, contact the court clerk and NSP CID with the order and precise identifiers. After a set-aside, review the court entry and order a new NSP self-review because reporting updates can lag.
Sherman County Probation and Parole
Probation in Sherman County is state-run through the Nebraska Judicial Branch Office of Probation Administration. The public court file is the practical place to confirm a probation sentence, later motion, or revocation ruling. Day-to-day conditions, assessments, and officer notes are not a general public directory. Parole decisions belong to the Nebraska Board of Parole, and field supervision runs through the NDCS Division of Parole Supervision.
